Rare Diseases

Problem

Patients with rare diseases, such as paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH), atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome (aHUS), hypophosphatasia (HPP), and others, often face difficulties in following treatment regimens. Constant symptoms, the complexity of adhering to a strict medication schedule, and lack of motivation create additional challenges in maintaining a good quality of life.

Solution

We developed the chatbot to help patients with rare diseases better control their treatment regimens and develop healthy habits. The chatbot provides support for six diseases, reminding patients to take medications, organizing consultations with specialized doctors, and offering other services. To make the treatment process more engaging, we added gamification elements: patients can accumulate points for taking medications regularly, performing physical exercises, maintaining a sleep schedule, and following a proper diet. Patients can earn XP for active participation and receive badges for achieving certain goals, such as regularly using services or successfully completing training. Monthly and weekly progress statistics are sent to patients, helping maintain interest and motivation.
