Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)

Problem

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) poses a serious health threat to newborns and young children, especially those born prematurely. The disease requires year-round immunoprophylaxis, including five injections of palivizumab at one-month intervals. Families often find it difficult to organize and remember vaccination visits, reducing the effectiveness of prophylaxis and increasing the risk of serious complications.

Solution

We developed a patient support chatbot that helps families dealing with RSV provide continuous support for their newborn. The bot reminds users of upcoming injections, helps find nearby immunization centers using an integrated map, and provides up-to-date scientific information about RSV. The bot includes features such as personalized immunization calendar setup, and reminders about upcoming visits.

Results

Thanks to the chatbot, missed injections decreased, and doctors actively recommend the chatbot to hundreds of new patients every year. Parents noted that the reminders and information about their child's condition helped reduce stress levels and make the immunization process more manageable.
